Site Updates! Yay!
Imperon 04/30/2012 4:04:33PM

It's been just over a year since this site saw an actual update. This one isn't large, but it will be followed by more in the weeks to come. The Tower section has finally been updated to include double spacing between lines. This should make it considerably more readable. The Recruitment Introduction has had a few things added in the hopes that our recruits will no longer ask me how they get to the Application Forum.

The Tabard and the Tattoo
Imperon 04/22/2011 7:04:33PM

The Handbook has a new entry, the Tabard and the Tattoo. Finally we have a decent description of just what the Ocheliad tabard and the small tattoo each member receives are capable of doing. You can find this new entry in the Handbook menu, or be lazy and click this link: http://www.ocheliad.org/?comp=content&id=37

The Basics

I have finally managed to update "The Basics" page. It is no longer out of date although it does still require some more expansion, I think.

New LO Backstory Chapter!

Chapter 17 of the LO backstory is now available on the guild forums. You can link directly to it by clicking http://ocheliad.4.forumer.com/index.php?act=ST&f=69&t=2186

Website Updates
Imperon 02/10/2011 11:02:39AM

Two more sections (About the Ocheliad and The Rules) have been successfully double spaced. In a few cases, pages with 12 point font were changed to 14 point. This is a change that should have been made years ago and I apologize to everyone who struggled through pages of 12 point, single spaced rules over the past two years.

Recruitment Section Updated
Imperon 02/09/2011 5:02:31PM

The updated to the Recruitment section won't look major until you get to the next section of the site. I've double spaced the whole recruitment section, but not the rest of the site (which will come, at about one section every other day). It really makes for easier reading.

Unbe-doublespace-lievable
Imperon 02/09/2011 4:02:35PM

I figured it out. The HTML issue that is. Me. The absolute most amateur webmaster in the history of webmasters have figured out the bit of code and where to place it in order to make a page double spaced. Here's the bad part: I'm going to have to alter this site paragraph by paragraph. Older news posts won't be altered. This'll be the first. BUT! I did alter the initial request for help with html.

I will be alterating the pages of the website starting from the top and moving down. This will not be a process that happens in one or two days. Bear with me, please.

Rank Page Updated
Imperon 01/30/2011 2:01:20PM

For the first time since we got ocheliad.org (about two years ago), the rank page is not extremely out of date. While I still have a few more ranks to add to at least one section of the page, it is now a decently accurate listing of ranks and their function within the guild.

Stuipd HTML Code!
Imperon 02/09/2011 4:02:56PM

I admit it, I stink with HTML. Always have. Even getting the Recruitment Introduction to have an embedded link taking a recruit to the application forum was a trial for me. Which puts my current project - double spacing all the lines on every page on this site to make for easier reading - way out of my league. I've found a CSS code line for double spacing, but not an HTML equivalent.

The very basic text editor used by our site's host doesn't have a command to do that, either. It has lots of little tricks, but it severely lacking on the basic commands department.

Which is why I need your help. Find me a way to make things on this website double spaced (by line, not by character). The text editor that our site uses is called TinyMCE. You can find their website here: http://tinymce.moxiecode.com/ ; Perhaps they have instructions for how to double space the lines, but I haven't found it. They mention CSS code in parts of their FAQ and maybe I'm simply so abyssmal with code (a distinct possibility) that my attempt to use a CSS line-height command was just put in the wrong place.

Anyhow, find me a solution, and earn my undying gratitude, or something close to it.

Website Updates
Imperon 01/28/2011 11:01:49AM

The updates for today aren't really major, but were needed all the same.

The Interview: Recruits page has been updated to better reflect how interviews are likely go happen.

The Short Oath page now contains a more detailed description of the swearing of the oath at the end of the interview.

There is now a "The Long Oath" page in the Recruitment section. It may be moved to the Handbook as it is not actually used in recruitment.

Interview: Officers has been changed to Interview: For Ocheliad and will shortly be receiving an update to reflect common instructions not only for officers, but for other Ocheliad present at an interview.
